MAYR, Christian (circa 1805-1851), born in Germany.  Mayr appeared in New York City about 1834.  Worked as portrait and genre painter, designer of daguerreotypes.  Exhibited at the National Academy in 1834.  Afterwards in Boston, Charleston, South Carolina, and New Orleans.
