HAIDT, John V, or Johann Valentin (1700-1780), born in Danzig of an Augsburg family, he grew up in Berlin. Traveled through much of Europe and worked as a painter and goldsmith, before he converted to the belief and lifestyle of the Moravian brotherhood. In 1757 he went to America to join the Moravian Community in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. |
