FENDERICH, Charles (circa 1816-after 1870), born in Baden, Germany, came to the United States circa 1830. First worked in Philadelphia as a portrait painter and lithographer for Lehmann & Duval. He went to Washington, D. circa (1837-1843) and made a number of political portraits. In the 1830's settled in San Francisco. |
